How to setup Callcontrol with Estos

To activate callcontrol with Estos, you have to download and install the freeVoice UC-Manager.

Open the Estos-Settings:

In the "General" section, select "Actions" and click on "New Action":

In the new Window, click "Add...":

In the new window, give the action a name. First we define the "Call signaled" function.

Under "Application" click on the button with the three dots (...) to search for an application. Navigate to the installation folder of the freeVoice UC-Manager. Usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\Freevoice AG\ freeVoice UC Manager". Select the "HS_RingOff.exe" file.

Under "Directory" click on the button with the 3 dots (...) and select the installation folder of the UC Manager.

Then click "OK" to save the action.

Repeat the process. Now select the "HS_HookOff.exe" file and name the action "Call started". Click "OK" to save the action.

Repeat the process again. Now select the "HS_HookOn.exe" file and name the action "Call ended". Click on "OK" to save this action as well.

Now add the created actions to the events as shown in the adjacent image.

  • With an incoming call -> call signaled
  • With an outgoing call -> call started
  • When accepting a call -> call started
  • At the end of the call -> call ended

The telephone events are now sent to the UC Manager or the headset. What is missing now is the opposite side. The button press on the headset should now be signaled to Estos. This is done using simulated keys, so-called hotkeys.

Now switch to the hotkey settings. Here you can define keys with which you can start and end the call. Check the box labeled "Use this button also to answer". The keys F10 and F11 are used here as an example. Then click on "OK" to save the settings.

Now open the freeVoice UC Manager. Switch to the "Simulated Keys" tab. Select the same buttons here that you defined in the last step in the Estos settings. You can select the same key for the "Reject" function as for "End call".

If you also installed the Tapi driver when installing Estos, you can activate the "Use Tapi for incoming events and Caller ID" function. In this way, the called contact or the phone number is usually also transmitted to the UC manager. This data is used, for example, for the recordings. However, this step is optional.

Everything should now work properly. Calls are signaled on the headset and you can use the headset button to accept the incoming call. For outgoing calls, the headset automatically establishes a connection, which is also terminated after the call. You can now also use the optional recording function of the UC Manager or control Quando Busylights.
